Geocaching Film Festival at the Wright
Saturday, November 9th saw geocachers from around the area come to the Wright Center to enjoy the annual Geocaching International Film Festival. Over a dozen short films created by and starring geocachers from around the world were compiled into a one-hour presentation. The films ranged from comedic to serious to inspirational.
More than 50 geocachers from throughout Western New York were in attendance. Among the areas represented were Leroy, Derby, North Tonawanda, Akron, Lockport, Alden, and many more. As is typical of events like these, everyone brought snacks and stories to share.
Geocaching is an international game of high tech treasure hunting using phones or handheld GPS receivers to locate hidden containers (geocaches). It has been around since May, 2000. There are hundreds of thousands of geocachers around the world and over three million active geocaches.
Foster Parents Baby Closet
Please help out Foster Parents for Emergency Home Pick Ups There is a Big Need for Help for Foster Parents, when a Foster Parents is called to Pick up a Baby in an emergency situation. When the call is received, the Foster Parents must go to pick up the child immediately. Many times the Foster Parent's are not notified with enough time, to pick up emergency supplies for the Baby. Having these Basic needs on hand, for Foster Parents, would enable them to pick up a Love Bag, that contains these basic necessities, as diapers, baby wipes, and bottles, and diaper bags. If you would like to help us, please donate any supplies for the Love Bags. Please drop them off at the C Dee Wright Community Center, or call Judy Moore, New Events Director for the C Dee Wright Community Center at 716-536-1261, or email at email@example.com If you would like to help out with this event by becoming a drop off destination, please contact Judy Moore. Thank You to the donor that donated these supplies to the Alden Food Pantry.
